Help celebrate Whatcom Community College’s 50th anniversary by registering or volunteering for Tour de Whatcom’s special “WCC 50th Legacy Route” on Saturday, July 29.

We need at least a dozen volunteers to work at rest stations along WCC’s 50-mile route. Race participants and volunteers will receive a commemorative 50th anniversary shirt and earn hours toward the College’s 50 hours of service project. Volunteer opportunities range from 1 to 4+ hours and are located around the county. Register at tourdewhatcom.com; email pio@whatcom.edu for volunteer opportunities.

WHO: WCC faculty, staff, students, friends and cycling enthusiasts. Everyone is encouraged to participate or volunteer. Invite your friends!
WHAT: Special 50-mile “WCC 50th Legacy Route,” part of this year’s Tour de Whatcom charity bike ride. Registration fee is $50 through July 1. After July 1, fee increases to $60. Register here.
WHERE: Ride starts at Boundary Bay Brewing in downtown Bellingham. WCC’s route cycles past some of the College’s former locations around Whatcom County for a beautiful 50-mile tour. See the route here.
WHEN: Saturday, July 29. The “WCC 50th Legacy Route” departs at 10 a.m. Volunteer shifts vary by time and location.
WHY: This special route, offered only in 2017, helps celebrate WCC’s 50th anniversary. Race participants and volunteers will receive a commemorative shirt (while supplies last) and earn hours toward the College’s 50 hours of service project. Rest stations along the route will collect donations for the WCC Foundation.
HOW: You can register online now at tourdewhatcom.com. If you’re interested in volunteering, please email pio@whatcom.edu.
