Enjoy these end-of-the-year drama, art and dance celebrations at Whatcom

Post Date:05/31/2016 11:03 am

Whatcom's Visual & Performing Arts Department has several end-of-the-year events the community is invited to attend. All events take place in Heiner Center.

Spring Drama Production
Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4, 7:30 p.m.

Every spring the drama program produces an evening of student-directed one-act plays. This quarter, four student directors (working with a large pool of student actors) are presenting a variety of one-act plays that range from wild comedy to deeply personal dramas. Playwrights represented include Bertolt Brecht, David Ives, Wayne S. Rawley, and others. Please join us for a fun evening of theatre! $5 general admission. No reservations required.

Student Art Show Opening Reception
Thursday, June 9, 4 p.m.

A student art show will be on display in the library until the end of spring quarter. An opening reception is planned for Thursday, June 9 from 4-5 p.m. in the Heiner lobby. This show showcases the incredible talent of the students at Whatcom Community College. The art work represented comes primarily from work done for classes in the visual arts discipline during the winter and spring of 2016. Our students have strong voices and incredible stories to tell. This show represents their ability to express themselves through the visual art and communication disciplines.

Spring Dance Concert
Friday, June 10 and Saturday, June 11, 7:30 p.m.

The WCC spring dance concerts features all new works by and for students and faculty of WCC. $5 suggested donation.
