Space is still available! WCC's medical assisting IBEST program starts Sept. 20

Prepare for a rewarding career in healthcare

Post Date:06/27/2016 9:00 a.m.

Whatcom Community College's Integrated Basic Education & Skills Training (IBEST) program prepares students for jobs in medical assistant occupations. Medical assistants work as a member of a healthcare team, performing a broad range of clinical and administrative tasks under the supervision of a doctor or nurse practitioner.

Medical Assisting IBEST classes start September 20 and continue through spring quarter 2017. For best consideration apply by July 29th. Students who successfully complete the IBEST program will be eligible for enrollment into Whatcom’s accredited Medical Assisting program, which prepares graduates to take the National Board exam to become certified medical assistants.

What is IBEST? Integrated Basic Education & Skills Training (IBEST) pairs two instructors in the classroom: one to teach professional and technical content and the other to teach basic skills in reading, math, or English language. Learn more about IBEST here.
