Whatcom opens food pantry for hungry students. Donate now.

Post Date:09/12/2016 11:27 a.m.

Whatcom Community College has a new food pantry to serve hungry students. The Orca Food Pantry is open to any student who skips meals or can’t afford to purchase groceries. It is located on the second floor of Syre Student Center, near the Intercultural Center, and is open during College hours; no sign in required. Students can take what they need to eat while on campus. There is a microwave and hot water dispenser in the Dockside Cafe.

Help fight student hunger on campus by donating to the Orca Food Pantry now through the end of September. We’ll fill the pantry with your donations (peanut butter, canned fruits, drink mixes, cereal, trail mix and granola bars, instant oatmeal, ramen noodles, microwave meals) and occasionally perishables from local gardens. Donation boxes are located in each building on campus.

Please consider donating monetary funds to the pantry through the WCC Foundation. Send your check or donate online and help end food insecurity on campus.
