Get your powerful, new Orca Card now in Syre!

New Orca Card


Students will be able to ride the bus at no additional charge (beyond the $20/quarter fee) beginning the first day of winter quarter (Jan. 4, 2017), by presenting their new Orca Card to the bus driver. For information regarding WTA bus service, visit New cards will be issued in the week leading up to winter quarter and during the first weeks of the quarter. To receive the new card, currently enrolled students must present a form of personal identification, e.g. driver’s license, and their old ID card at the Orca Card distribution tables on the second floor of the Syre Student Center between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. New students need to present a form of personal identification only. Hours will be extended to 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 4, 5, 9, 10, 17 and 18. There will be extra staffing and information tables at special Jan. 3-5 Welcome Back events in Syre. After Jan. 18, students who need new cards or replacement cards should visit Student Life, room 208, Syre Student Center.

The new Orca cards will be free if you are a new student and/or have not yet received an Orca Card or if you are a current student with an Orca Card. Current students will need to turn in their old cards in order to receive a new card. Fees may be assessed to replace lost Orca Cards.

Orca card benefits include access to:

  • Unlimited WTA bus service
  • Student Recreation Center equipment and services
  • Classrooms and labs
  • Copy and print services
  • Library checkout privileges
  • Deposit funds to use at the campus bookstore, dining and vending machines
