Prepare for the SAT and ACT at Whatcom
Courses offered through WCC’s Community & Continuing Education program
Bellingham, Wash. – High school juniors and seniors can enroll now in SAT and ACT exam prep courses at Whatcom Community College (WCC). The standardized tests are often required for college admission. The SAT prep course begins Feb. 2; ACT prep course begins Feb. 22. A textbook is included in the $195 course fee for each class.
“Preparing for the SAT” will help students navigate and succeed with all three sections of the SAT: writing, critical reading and math. Learn important test-taking strategies as you review common trouble areas such as word problems, ratios, geometry, data analysis, linear equations, probability, improving and correcting sentences, developing reading techniques, and preparedness for the SAT essay. Class meets 6-8:30 p.m. Thursdays, Feb. 2 – March 9.
“Preparing for the ACT” will help students prepare for all four sections of the ACT: math, science, reading comprehension and English. Learn important test-taking strategies as you review key concepts in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, biology, chemistry, earth/space sciences, and physics, as well as work on improving and correcting sentences, developing reading techniques, and preparing for the ACT essay. Class meets 6-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 22 – March 29.
