Men's Basketball Adds Kenai Central Duo
Bellingham, Wash. – Whatcom Community College head men’s basketball coach Tom Rawlings has announced the signing of Luke Beiser and Garrett Fitt from Kenai Central High School (Kenai, AK) to NWAC letters of intent for the 2018-19 season.
Beiser (Kenai, AK) a 6-5 forward, averaged 17.8 points and 7.3 rebounds last season for Kenai Central. Beiser posted double-digit scoring in 23 of 24 games during the 17-18 season. Luke brings a versatile skill-set, in addition to a knack for rebounding the basketball. He posted six double-doubles during his senior season, including a 24 point, 20 rebound performance against Service (12/14/17).
Fitt (Kenai/Everett CC) a 6-7 forward, comes to WCC with one year of eligibility remaining following his time at Everett Community College. Garrett appeared in 25 games for the Trojans during the 2016-17 season and shot 48% from the field. Fitt averaged 7.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game for Kenai Central during his senior season. He will be eligible to play this season after sitting out the 2017-18 season at Everett.
Head coach Tom Rawlings said “Luke and Garrett will add size and depth to our roster. Both are athletic and their skill sets complement each other. We are excited to have them on board.” With the addition of Luke and Garrett, men’s basketball now has five players expected to be on the 2018-19 roster from Alaska.
