Matthew Thuney is a freelance writer, blogger, radio announcer, wedding officiant, paranormal researcher, event coordinator, public relations consultant, and fundraiser.
Matthew truly enjoys presenting intriguing ideas to inquiring minds and facilitating the subsequent discussion. He takes an open-minded approach to unusual topics and allows students to reach their own conclusions or follow their own intellectual trails further on. For about 20 years, Matthew lead a study group that delved into all things "paranormal," hosting guest speakers and discussion groups while occasionally giving presentations of his own (particularly regarding the UFO phenomenon). He is currently writing a book and producing a radio program entitled "Bucolia," a humorous look at his personal attempt to understand country living. In his "spare" time, Matthew loves to create and officiate personalized wedding ceremonies.
Matthew majored in Religious Studies and minored in Anthropology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he graduated with High Honors and was awarded membership to Phi Beta Kappa. Assuming that his career path would lead to through the Epsicopal Church (it did not!), he subsequently studied Campus Ministry at Yale Divinity School in New Haven, Connecticut. Largely due to his volunteer work at KAVZ FM 102.5 in Deming, Washington, he was humbled to be named a "Pillar of the Community" by the South Fork Valley Community Association.
Matthew has always found great joy in both reading and writing, relishes thoughtful (and witty) conversation, and finds working in the garden to be highly fulfilling (if a bit hard on the knees).
