Award-winning author, Brenda Wilbee has written hundreds of articles, short stories, and radio scripts. Her ten books have sold over 700,000 copies. As a designer, she owns the Author Etc Studio, offering editorial and design services for other writers.
Brenda comes from a long line of writers, artists, and teachers. She began publishing while still in high school and started teaching professionally at writers conferences, schools, libraries, and in the community more than 30 years ago. After getting her MA in English/Professional Writing, she taught for 7 years at the university and college level, and today teaches in the community because she prefers teaching people who are eager to find their voice. It's just so much fun, she says.
Before Brenda wrote, she drew. Before she became an English major, she was an art major. Today she holds an AA in Graphic Design, an interdisciplinary degree in Art, Women's History, and Creative Writing, and an MA in English/Professional Writing.
In the summer, Brenda lives in Alaska and the Canadian Yukon, working as a tour bus driver, showing visitors from all over the world the scenery and telling them stories from the iconoclastic 1898 Gold Rush. At home in the Pacific Northwest, she is the grandmother of 7 grandchildren,1 on the way, and she loves gardening. It's like painting, but with plants.
