Andres is a biologist with a background in marine invertebrates. He was born and raised in Costa Rica, Central America. Andres loves teaching people about science, marine life, and of course, Costa Rica.
Andres holds a M.S. in Environmental Science from Western Washington University and a B.S in Biology from the University of Costa Rica. His work focuses on sea anemone ecology, taxonomy, and symbiosis. Andres has six publications (that nobody has read) in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
On sunny days, Andres loves hiking and snowshoeing in the beautiful Pacific Northwest mountains. He also enjoys water activities such as kayaking, boating, crabbing, clam digging, and exploring tide pools. Andres recently started salmon fishing and is proficient at catching leaf fish and stick fish, but has yet to catch any actual salmon.
