CDP-alternative training - important course information

The CDP-alternative training certificate of proficiency is offered entirely online. Students must have basic computer skills and consistent access to the Internet. The alternative training program is an entirely online 15-credit certificate of proficiency. Students take five (5) credits per quarter of online coursework.

For a typical two-year community college, a full-quarter 5-credit course is based on five hours of structured learning / online lectures / videos / web-based exercises / community experiences, etc. per week with an average of two hours per credit of additional unstructured learning, reading/homework, etc. This adds up to a total of 15 hours of work per week for a 5-credit course. This is an average; depending on a student's learning style and abilities, time will vary.
