Whatcom Community College welcomes all future students who are at least 18 years of age or who have graduated from high school or earned a GED certificate. Follow these five easy steps to prepare for your first day at Whatcom or select an option from the FAQs box below for more information about the application process for specific populations.
1. Apply or reapply for admission
Apply online or download the paper application. Submit paper applications to Admissions & Registration in Laidlaw Center 102.
Submit your application after registering for your final Running Start quarter.
2. Find your math and English starting point
Find your best starting point for English and math classes. Call or contact an advisor for input and help with this process at 360.383.3080 or email@example.com. Note that Whatcom accepts placement decisions from other colleges in Washington.
Registration access times, for students who apply by the priority application date, are set approximately two weeks before the quarter starts. We'll send you an email reminding you to look up your access time online. New students who apply after the priority date register during general registration.
4. Pay tuition or confirm financial aid
The financial aid process takes approximately 6-8 weeks, so eligible students should apply early. We start posting financial aid awards for a new school year (summer quarter through spring quarter) starts approximately May 1. Visit Financial Aid for more information.
Pay tuition. If your financial aid is not yet available or you are unable to pay the full tuition by the deadline, Whatcom offers a convenient tuition payment plan.
Visit the College bookstore to purchase books and supplies!
5. Attend new student orientation
It's time to catch The Whatcom Wave, WCC's new student orientation! In this fun and informative half-day session, you'll learn about a wealth of resources and services such as financial aid, advising, student clubs, campus activities, and more. Meet other WCC students, instructors and staff while getting acquainted with the campus before your first day.
