Aubrey brings 10+ years of experience in philanthropy at higher education and education-focused nonprofit institutions across the Pacific Northwest. She most recently served as the Director of Individual Giving at Pacific Science Center and has served in various roles at the University of Washington during their most recent Be Boundless campaign. Aubrey started her career as a middle school science teacher, and her career’s been driven by her core belief that education transforms lives and communities.

Mikyn (she/her) joins the Whatcom Community College Foundation as the Development Director for Annual Giving. With a degree in English from WWU, she has a background in technical writing, public relations, and digital marketing. She entered the nonprofit sector several years ago, working in development for the arts and arts education. She has a deep belief in the transformative power of education as the path to a better future, and she is honored to join the Foundation team to increase access for WCC students to engage with opportunities to pursue their dreams. 

Mikyn is a third-generation Whatcom County resident and lives in Bellingham with her daughter. Outside of work, she's happiest spending time in the outdoors, hiking, traveling the world, and playing nerdy word games over an extraordinary amount of coffee.
