The Simpson Intercultural Center and the ASWCC Latine Student Union, in partnership with WWU La Plaza, WWU Arts Enterprise and Cultural Innovation (AECI), WCC Latine Studies, Puget Sound Energy, and the Simpson Scott family, would like to invite you to our Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration on Friday, November 1. Doors open and dinner service will begin at 4:30pm, with the formal program scheduled to begin around 6:00pm. This event is open to the public.
Dia De Los Muertos is a time to celebrate and honor the lives of our family and friends who have passed and are no longer physically with us. In Latine and other cultures who also celebrate this holiday, we honor these loved ones that we have lost by sharing memories, eating, dancing, and setting up pictures of them on our offering tables. Our event will feature food, guest speakers, artists, musical performances, and student hosts, as a way to share this beautiful cultural celebration, while showcasing talented Latine individuals in our community.
