The Associated Students of Whatcom Community College (ASWCC) aims to enhance every student's experience at Whatcom Community College by providing students a means to be represented in College decision making.

ASWCC Vision statement: ASWCC aims to achieve a dynamic campus environment in which all students are represented and have an opportunity to participate.

ASWCC Mission statement: To serve students by providing diverse opportunities for campus involvement, to build campus community and represent student concerns in college decision-making.

ASWCC Definition: The ASWCC is the representative student body organization for Whatcom Community College. Its membership consists of all currently enrolled WCC students and is governed by the ASWCC Executive Board, Programming and Diversity Board, and Student Senate.

Moises ASWCCMoises Jacobo (he/him)
ASWCC President

Moises is a Running Start student from Nooksack Valley High School. He plans to earn his associate degree in Arts and Sciences from WCC, with the goal of pursuing a degree in Political Science thereafter. As ASWCC President, Moises aims to boost participation in activities at Whatcom and maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as soccer and hiking, as well as spending time with friends and family.

Maggie ASWCC

Maggie Flowers (she/her)
ASWCC Vice President for Clubs and Unions

Maggie is a Running Start student from Bellingham High School. She’s working on a transfer degree, with aspirations of attending university on the West coast and studying English. In her time at Whatcom, and as a WCC Executive Board member, Maggie hopes to see the student body engaged and invested in campus communities that thrive and support the student body’s success and wellbeing. In her free time, Maggie enjoys reading and writing, walking her dog, Jack, and being with loved ones.

Jagdish ASWCCJagdish (he/him)
ASWCC Vice President for Finance

Jagdish is working on his transfer degree at WCC. After graduating from WCC he has plans to major in business at Western Washington University. During his term as the ASWCC Vice President for Finance, Jagdish hopes to engage the student body by helping to create a community where students of all backgrounds can participate in crucial and impactful affairs. In his leisure time Jagdish enjoys learning new things, painting, engaging in outdoor activities and spending time with friends and family.

Krystan ASWCC

Krystan Andreason (she/her)
ASWCC Vice President for Campus Advocacy

Krystan (she/her) is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in applied business management at Whatcom Community College. She’s very proud to attend and be a part of Whatcom because it has been a truly beautiful, supportive, and healthy place to learn. She’s excited to help and support students on their way to greatness and the incredible things they are all capable of. In her free time, she enjoys participating in forms of artistic expression, reading, and expanding her mind through research and exploration on various topics.

Nam ASWCC

Nam Nguyen (he/him)
ASWCC Vice President for Operations

Nam Nguyen is diligently working toward his Associate Degree at Whatcom Community College with plans to transfer to the University of Washington Seattle. As a member of the ASWCC Executive Board, Nam aims to enhance student engagement and create more inclusive opportunities for his peers. His commitment to academic excellence and community involvement is evident in his approach to leadership. In his spare time, Nam enjoys playing chess, exploring local coffee shops, and listening to music.

Juliana ASWCCJuliana Serrano (she/her)
ASWCC Vice President for Civic Engagement

Juliana is currently working on an Associate in Arts and Sciences degree. She plans to transfer into a Computer Science program and is still considering where she would like to go. She looks forward to learning new things as a student leader and wants to support and represent the students at WCC to the best of her ability. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing the guitar, and spending time with family and friends

Cristian ASWCCCristian Perez (he/him)
ASWCC Vice President for Student Engagement

Cristian is a Running Start student working on his AA business transfer degree and then continuing to the University of Washington. He will finish his undergraduate education and receive his bachelor's in business and then work towards an MBA. He has a long-term interest in owning and managing his own company. In his role as ASWCC VP for Student Engagement Cristian hopes to make positive change around campus, to improve the community college experience and to create safe spaces for all students to feel included and to advocate for all, no matter ethnic background, gender, religion, education or economic status.  

Vi ASWCCVi Vo (she/her)
ASWCC Vice President for Health and Wellness

Vi is an international student from Vietnam working on her High School Diploma and Associate degree at Whatcom. After graduating from WCC, she plans to pursue a Bachelor in Science degree at a four-year university. As the ASWCC VP for Health and Wellness, Vi hopes to create a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes the well-being of all students, addressing both physical and mental health needs and increasing awareness of available resources. Through her role, Vi seeks to gain valuable leadership experience, develop her skills in advocacy and project management, and make a positive impact on the student body. In her free time, she enjoys going shopping, listening to music (especially pop music), walking, and spending time with her family and friends.
