CTE Dual Credit at WCC

CTE dual credit is a program that offers high school students opportunities to get connected to education pathways that lead to successful careers. High school students can earn college credit at Whatcom Community College for taking approved courses at their high school. These high school career and technical education courses meet the entry level course requirements of certain college professional/technical programs.

Students who complete approved CTE dual credit courses with a grade of "B" or better may request college credit by completing and submitting a dual credit application form. Registration instructions are available in the career and counseling centers at each area high school. All college CTE dual credit courses accepted for credit at WCC will be transcribed with the grade earned in the student's high school course. Courses are only transcribed within the academic year the student completes the course work.

• Students can save tuition dollars by earning free credits toward WCC degrees or certificates.
• Students save time by meeting early requirements of a professional/technical program.
• Students complete courses that launch them into high demand, high wage career pathways.

Award of articulated credits through WCC does not guarantee nor imply acceptance of credits by other institutions.
