Constitution day
Held on or around Sept. 17, in recognition of Constitution Day, the WCC library will showcase two displays: one that contains print and media resources, a bibliography, posters and bookmarks on "The Constitution and the First Amendment." The other focuses on Banned Books and the First Amendment.

Higher Education Emergency Relief Funding (HEERF)
Whatcom Community College received Coronavirus (COVID-19) emergency grants for postsecondary education from the Department of Education. Funding awarded through:
- Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES or HEERF I);
- Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA or HEERF II); and
- American Rescue Plan Act (ARP or HEERF III).

Annual HEERF Reports
Student aid portion:
- Whatcom Community College signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification and Agreement and the assurance that the institution has used, or intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
- The total amount of funds that the institution will receive or has received from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement [for] Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs: $6,661,288
- The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs as of the date of submission: $5,505,953 as of April 8th, 2022
- The estimated total number of students at the institution eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs: An estimated 4,100 students.
- The total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under the CRRSAA and ARP (a)(1) and (a)(4) programs: as of April 8th, 2,758 students
- The method(s) used by the institution to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they would receive under Section 18004(a)(1): In order to promptly respond to the large number of requests received for support, applicants are awarded up to $750 depending on the size of their request, current credit load, and available funds.
- Any instructions, directions, or guidance provided by the institution to students concerning the Emergency Financial Aid Grants. Instructions, guidance and answers to frequently asked questions are posted and regularly updated on our emergency and stimulus funding webpage: Whatcom.edu/EmergencyFunds.
