Online Scheduling, Degree Planning, and Early Alert Progress Surveys through Starfish
Starfish is our comprehensive student success tool. Once your MyWCC is reactivated you will be able to schedule meetings with advisors and support staff online, view to your degree plan anywhere you have access to internet, and review any concerns your instructors may have submitted via WCC's quarterly progress surveys. The intent of these progress surveys is to connect struggling students to appropriate support staff quickly to improve all students' ability to achieve their academic goals each quarter. Check out Starfish now!
Required New Student Orientation
New Student Orientation is your first of many opportunities to learn about all of the resources available to you as a WCC student. Orientation is required for all new students. If you have not yet attended any WCC New Student Orientation, please do so prior to the quarter you are returning. It will take approximately 30 minutes to complete, and you should do so before registering for courses. Visit the New Student Orientation page to learn more.
English and Math Placement
Find your best academic starting point for English and Math classes. Contact Orca Central for help with this process at 360.383.3080 or orcacentral@whatcom.edu.
Academic Suspension and Readmission
Students who left us because they were on academic suspension are allowed to take up to 5 credits each quarter until their cumulative GPA is at or above 2.0, which is a C average. If you are on academic suspension and would like to petition to take more than 5 credits, we encourage you to work closely with an academic advisor or coach to explore career pathways, select your area of study and degree goal, and build your plan for success each quarter. To learn more about the academic progress policy and support for suspended students, visit WCC's Early Alert and Academic Progress webpage.
If you have not yet done so, please review next steps to get your students accounts reactivated here.
