WCC Supports Undocumented Students Pursuing a College Education.
Whatcom proudly stands with our fellow educators across the country in supporting undocumented students as they pursue their dreams of higher education. Our college is open to all students, regardless of their background. As an inclusive institution, our campus is a safe space for all who come in pursuit of an education.
Kathi Hiyane-Brown, Whatcom Community College President, is committed to providing college access for undocumented students: “Whatcom Community College minimizes barriers by offering in-state tuition and grant funds to eligible DREAMers. Our students may receive grant funds, financial aid application support, scholarships, and support from a team dedicated to academic success. Whatcom maintains confidentiality of student education records, including immigration status.”
