There are no prerequisites for the nursing assistant course; however, ENGL 95 is recommended preparation since there is significant reading required. If you are starting in classes numbered below 100, just add those classes at the beginning of the pathway.

NURSING ASSISTANT - CERTIFICATE OF PROFICIENCY (8 CREDITS)
This comprehensive training course prepares students to take the state nursing assistant certification exam and provides awareness of the role of the nursing assistant in nursing care.
Quarter 1
NURS 100 Nursing Assistant (8 credits)
Description This comprehensive training course prepares students to take the state Nursing Assistant Certification exam and provides awareness of the role of the nursing assistant in nursing care. The certification exam and the exam fee are not included in this course. A background check and TST (Tuberculin Skin Test) are required for clinicals. Recommended preparation: assessment into ENGL 95 or higher. (UE)
