As a result of completing the physical therapist assistant program, you should be able to:

  1. Explain and perform entry-level treatment practices appropriate to the plan of care established by the physical therapist.
  2. Explain and perform entry-level test and measurement techniques appropriate to the plan of care established by the physical therapist.
  3. Practice physical therapy making judgments consistent with the physical therapist's plan of care and the role of the physical therapist's assistant.
  4. Provide patient care in a safe manner that minimizes risk to patient, self, and others.
  5. Communicate with patients, families, colleagues, and other health care providers.
  6. Interact with patients, families, colleagues, and other health care providers in a way that exhibits respect and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences.
  7. Adhere to ethical and legal standards throughout the provision of physical therapy services.
  8. Engage in lifelong learning opportunities that reflects social responsibility and career development.
