As a result of completing the physical therapist assistant program, you should be able to:
- Explain and perform entry-level treatment practices appropriate to the plan of care established by the physical therapist.
- Explain and perform entry-level test and measurement techniques appropriate to the plan of care established by the physical therapist.
- Practice physical therapy making judgments consistent with the physical therapist's plan of care and the role of the physical therapist's assistant.
- Provide patient care in a safe manner that minimizes risk to patient, self, and others.
- Communicate with patients, families, colleagues, and other health care providers.
- Interact with patients, families, colleagues, and other health care providers in a way that exhibits respect and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards throughout the provision of physical therapy services.
- Engage in lifelong learning opportunities that reflects social responsibility and career development.
