As a result of completing any computer information systems (CIS) pathway, you should be able to:
- Describe the basics of computer operating systems platforms.
- Perform the basics of computer and network security.
- Diagnose and repair personal computers.
- Communicate professionally with customers and co-workers.
- Describe and troubleshoot at each layer of the OSI and TCP/IP network models.
- Design an IP subnetting scheme.
As a result of completing the CIS degree or CIS - networking certificate, you should also be able to:
- Implement and troubleshoot a variety of network topologies and protocols.
- Set up and maintain medium-size routed and switched networks.
As a result of completing the CIS degree, you should also be able to:
- Install, configure and use the tools and techniques of computer forensics.
- identify threats and implement countermeasures to ensure network system security.
