Pre-Medical Programs

Apply to WCC

Earn a transfer degree and prepare for a program in medicine, veterinary medicine, physical therapy, pharmacy, dentistry or other medical professions.

Medicine, veterinary medicine, physical therapy, pharmacy, dentistry and other medical professions require a lot of background in biology, chemistry, other sciences and math.

Because of that, many students aiming for medical professions begin by earning an Associate in Science-Transfer (AS-T) degree at WCC with a focus on biology or chemistry and then majoring in a science at a university.

You aren't required to major in one of those fields, and some students choose an Associate in Arts & Sciences (AAS/DTA) transfer degree to prepare for a different major. Study in other fields strengthens students' human-oriented abilities, such as communication. But please note that even if your major is something else, you'll still need to complete all the science and math courses before you can apply to your graduate-level professional program.
