Entry and use of the Makerspace requires that you take a series of classes to ensure that you understand how to use the equipment provided. The initial course is a Safety course. Once you've completed the sections, there is a final quiz, which must be passed with an overall score of 80%; there is no limit on attempts to pass.
The Makerspace is divided into workspaces. You are to work alone at your station, and no one is allowed in the room without being assigned to a workstation. No untrained friends are able to accompany and watch your process.
While in the Makerspace you are to wear goggles/safety glasses and an apron - aprons are assigned based on training level and are color coded to your level of training.
The Makerspace houses two adjustable height Electronics Benches, an adjustable height Assembly Bench (for glue-ups, etc.), four adjustable height work tables, two well equipped tool chests, a Vinyl Cutter, a Cricut, a 7 needle Embroidery Machine, an Industry Sewing machine (leather, canvas, webbing, etc.), a standard sewing machine, and a Laser Engraver/Cutter.
